Kulhlhafilaafathu Satani

So, do you call this Kulhlhafilaafathu Mashuni or Kulhlhafilaafathu Satani? We are a bit divided over here and can really use your help on this one. Anyway, for now we are going with Satani and this is one of our favourite Roadhaveellaa Gadi dishes.

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup thinly sliced kulhlhafilaafaiy
  • 1 small onion
  • ¼ githeyo mirus (or to taste)
  • ¼ lime (or to taste)
  • ½ cup grated coconut
  • 2 ½ tbsp. rihaakuru (or to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Slice the kulhlhafilaafaiy thinly. We did that into a bowl of water. We gave it a good wash and set it aside.
  2. Slice the onion and githeyo mirus thinly and set it aside too.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the onion, lime and githeyo mirus. Use your fingers to squash and squeeze the mixture so that the onion can release its juices.
  4. Add the grated coconut and mix well again.
  5. Then add the kulhlhafilaafaiy. Use your fingers to mix well, but do it lightly, no more squeezing.
  6. Finally, add the rihaakuru and gently mix it all up, and that’s it.
