Valhomas Noodles

Valhomas noodles is a simple 20 minutes sort of meal that you can put together quickly whenever you are in a hurry. Below is our version of it. Do feel free to kick up the heat a notch and add some more veggies to it if you’d like too.  

Serves: 1-2

Ingredients:

• 1 small onion
• 3 garlic cloves
• ½ githeyo mirus (scotch bonnet pepper)
• 1 large tomato
• 1 ½ tbsp. oil
• 15 curry leaves
• 2/3 cup sliced valhomas (smoked tuna)
• 1 ½ cups water
• 2 packets noodles (we used Mamee)
• 1 ½ tsp. oyster sauce

Instructions:

1. Slice the onion thinly.
2. Mince the garlic cloves.
3. Slice the githeyo mirus and deseed and cut the tomato into cubes.
4. Heat the oil in a pot over medium heat.
5. Add the onions, githeyo mirus and curry leaves and cook until the onions look transparent.
6. Add the sliced smoked tuna and the tomato.
7. Mix everything together, put the lid on and let the mixture cook for around 2 minutes.
8. Add the water along with one seasoning sachet (the one that you find inside the noodles packet.)
9. Bring the mixture to a boil and then add in the noodles.
10. Put the lid on and cook until the noodles are cooked.
11. Add in the oyster sauce and give it one final mix and that’s it.
