Ritzbury Chocolate Balls

Did you ever think making fancy looking chocolate balls could be really, really easy? Well, it actually is. So read below to find out how to do it.

We are bringing you this recipe in partnership with Pyramid. If you drop by Pyramid, you’ll find a chocolate and biscuit combo pack that includes a packet of Munchee Marie Biscuits and a Ritzbury Cooking Chocolate. And if you haven’t guessed it now, that’s what we are going to be using for this recipe. One more thing, for those of you who don’t know where Pyramid is, it’s right in front of the STO Trade Centre.

Makes: 17 chocolate balls

Ingredients:

  • 44 Munchee Marie biscuits
  • 200 grams Ritzbury Cooking Chocolate
  • 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla essence

Instructions:

  1. Crush the Munchee Marie biscuits. You can just put them in a bag and then use a heavy object to crush them. Do not crush them all the way to a powder; leave slightly larger pieces so that the chocolate balls will have some crunch to it.
  2. Combine the crushed biscuits with condensed milk and vanilla essence.
  3. Divide the mixture into 17 portions and roll them into balls by using your hands. What you have to do is quite similar to how you’d make a gulha.
  4. Put them in the freezer and keep them there for 30 minutes. Before you remove them just check whether they have set; they should feel solid.
  5. Slice the Ritzbury Cooking Chocolate into small pieces.
  6. Melt the Ritzbury Cooking Chocolate. Here’s the easiest way to do it: Add a few inches of water to a pot and place a bowl on top of the pot. The bowl should be a bit heat resistant and also a bit large so that the bottom of the bowl will not touch the water. Add the sliced chocolate to the bowl and switch on the stove, and keep the heat low. Stir the chocolate once in a while and switch off the heat before all the pieces have melted since the residual heat is going to keep on melting it. Do not overheat the chocolate. That will make it clumpy.
  7. Dip the biscuit balls in the melted chocolate. Don’t put them all in together at once. Rather, gently place one or two of them in the melted chocolate by using a spoon and roll them around to coat them evenly.
  8. Put the chocolate balls back in the freezer and keep them in there for 15 minutes.

Note: You can sprinkle some crushed almonds over the chocolate balls for some extra crunch.
